Pallet load calculator
Pallet load calculator: enter outer carton length, width, height and weight to get TI-HI, load height, load weight and cube utilization. It tests grid and mixed-orientation patterns on GMA, Euro, UK, Australian, half and quarter pallets, respects wrap allowance and FBA’s 72 inch including-pallet cap, and draws a 3D or top-view plan.
Carton & pallet
Load plan
Default example: 16 × 12 × 10 in at 20 lb on GMA, 72 in / 1,500 lb including pallet, mixed orientation on. TI 10 × HI 6 = 60 cartons, 1,240 lb.
Next: put TI-HI on the label, or check how many of these pallets fit a 53-ft trailer or an FBA inbound.

How this pallet calculator works
- Usable deck = pallet length × width, minus wrap/bulge on each side. Overhang is off unless you enable it.
- TI = maximum identical cartons in one layer (grid, then mixed orientation if checked).
- HI = layers that fit under the height cap (including or excluding the deck, as the checkbox states) and under the weight cap including pallet tare.
- Total = TI × HI (last layer may be short if you entered a quantity).
- Cube utilization = carton cube / usable pallet envelope (usable deck × allowed cargo height).
Worked example — 16 × 12 × 10 in on GMA
On a 48 × 40 in GMA deck, mixed orientation packs 16 × 12 in cartons at TI 10. With height 72 in including a 5.7 in deck, cargo height is 66.3 in → HI 6. TI 10 × HI 6 = 60 cartons. At 20 lb each plus a 40 lb pallet the load is 1,240 lb, under the 1,500 lb FBA cap. Uniform grid without mixed is TI 9 (54 cartons).
Metric twin: 40.6 × 30.5 × 25.4 cm cartons on 1219 × 1016 mm, same TI-HI.
Amazon FBA height note
Plan 72 in including the pallet and about 1,500 lb including the pallet, 40 × 48 GMA, no overhang, clear wrap. Confirm the current FBA inbound guide — Amazon FBA pallet requirements.

Questions
What TI-HI do I put on an FBA or retailer label?
Use the TI and HI in the load plan. With the FBA preset, height and the 1,500 lb cap both include the pallet. Put that TI-HI on the ASN/label, then confirm the current inbound guide — receiving will reject an over-height or over-weight pallet.
Why is TI 10 for 16×12 on GMA, not 9?
A uniform 16-along-48 grid is 3×3 = 9. Mixed orientation (on by default) packs a leftover strip and reaches TI 10. Area allows 10 (1,920 in² / 192 in²). If you turn mixed off, you get 9. Overhang stays off unless you enable it.
Does the 1,500 lb FBA cap include the pallet?
Yes. Load weight here is cargo plus empty-pallet tare. The default 16×12×10 in at 20 lb is 60 cartons + 40 lb deck = 1,240 lb, under 1,500. Dense cartons will hit weight before height — HI stops automatically.
Can I ship this pallet as-is to Amazon and Walmart?
Not from one build. Amazon’s common cap is 72 in / 1,500 lb including the pallet; Walmart is ~72 in / ~2,100 lb. Pick the preset, rebuild, and still confirm the routing guide on the PO. Open FBA pallet rules or shipment planner for pallets into a trailer.
