Why this site exists and how the numbers are computed.
freightcalcs.com is a free suite of logistics calculators: pallet loading with 3D load plans, TI-HI, container stuffing, CBM, dimensional weight for ten carriers, chargeable weight, VGM, LTL linear feet and NMFC freight class — plus reference pages on pallets, containers and freight terms.
It exists because too many freight tools online are gated behind lead-capture forms, cluttered with ads, or abandoned. Everything here is free, requires no account, and works on a phone at the warehouse dock.
Packing results use a recursive guillotine algorithm over exact footprint dimensions, verified against an independent reference implementation. Carrier divisors, container specs and class scales come from publicly published carrier and industry documentation, with the publication date caveats noted on each page. Everything is an estimate for planning: your carrier's contract, the container's CSC plate and the retailer's current routing guide are always the authority.
Feedback, corrections and tool requests are welcome — the site improves fastest when people who ship things point out what's missing.
