Verified gross mass
SOLAS VGM = cargo + container tare. Method 1 is a packed-container weigh; Method 2 sums contents plus tare. This tool is Method 2 arithmetic only.
Formula
VGM = cargo mass (including packing and dunnage) + container tare, in one unit system. Default is 18,000 lb cargo plus a typical 20ft tare of 2,230 kg (4,916 lb). The header toggle converts both fields together. Always replace the tare with the CSC plate on the box you ship.

Method 1 weighs the packed container. Method 2 sums contents (including dunnage and packing) plus tare. This page is Method 2 addition only.
Who signs VGM?
The shipper, or a party the shipper authorizes. Wrong VGM can keep the box off the vessel.
