Double-stacked GMA

A 53-foot dry van is the workhorse of US full-truckload freight. Straight (non-turned) loading gives two GMA pallets side by side down the length; turning pallets sideways fits more. If your freight is stackable and under about half the interior height, double-stacking doubles the count to 60 GMA pallets.

Max freight weight is typically ~45,000 lb (limited by the 80,000 lb gross vehicle cap), so heavy pallets hit the weight limit long before the floor fills.
