What is a 3PL?
A third-party logistics provider (3PL) operates warehousing and distribution on your behalf: receive, putaway, pick, pack, ship. Some also broker freight. FBA is a specialized 3PL with its own pallet rules. A 3PL still needs TI-HI, case pack and pallet caps because their WMS and routing guides need those numbers.
When a 3PL says “standard pallet,” ask which standard: GMA 48 in cargo, FBA 72 in inclusive, or Euro. Then lock it in the calculator preset.
