The 48-foot dry van is the older US trailer standard, still common in LTL and regional fleets. It gives up one row of pallets to a 53-footer. If your freight is stackable and under about half the interior height, double-stacking doubles the count to 56 GMA pallets.

Max freight weight ~45,000 lb, same gross cap as a 53-foot trailer.
