Case pack

Case pack is the number of sellable units in one master carton. Retailers often dictate it (a case that shelves cleanly); e-commerce operations choose it to balance handling and freight. The competing forces: bigger case packs mean fewer cartons to handle and cheaper freight per unit, but heavier boxes (warehouse lifting norms commonly cap cartons near 50 lb / 23 kg), slower single-unit picking, and chunkier inventory.

For Amazon FBA, every carton in a case-packed shipment must contain identical units in identical quantities — mixed cartons route differently and slow receiving. Whatever quantity you choose, check the resulting carton's pallet math before committing to packaging: a case pack that tiles 48×40 cleanly compounds savings across every shipment that follows.
