Tare weight

Tare is the mass of empty equipment: the container, the pallet, the trailer. Payload is what you may add without exceeding gross. VGM is cargo plus container tare. Typical tares here (2,230 kg for a 20ft, ~40 lb for a GMA) are averages. The CSC plate and pallet stamp are the numbers that go on paperwork.

Never copy a typical tare onto a VGM cut if you have the plate. Two 40HCs from different builders can differ by hundreds of kilograms.

Does pallet tare go into FBA 1,500 lb?

Yes. 1,500 lb includes the wood.

Does container tare go into ocean payload?

Payload = max gross − tare. Heavier tare, less cargo.
