FCL vs LCL
FCL means you buy the container — 20ft, 40ft, 40HC — at a box rate plus extras. LCL means your cargo shares a box and you pay weight-or-measure, typically max(metric tons, CBM). When LCL W/M plus CFS fees exceed an FCL box, book the box even if you do not fill it.
LCL also adds CFS cutoffs, extra handling and more destuff damage. FCL adds drayage and the risk of paying for empty cube. Run CBM first, then call both quotes.
